IncArtLab is an international project, which fosters the implementation of inclusive artistic methods in the museums of Belarus.
In partnership with the National Art Museum we want to change attitudes within cultural sector and create environment that is open for different artistic expressions. The focus of IncArtLab is on widening participation in the arts and giving disabled people the right to take part in cultural life as creators, audience and participants.
Our vision is to open an inclusive, artistic laboratory where disabled and non-disabled people are welcome to meet and discuss the arts and create their own art work. This laboratory is expected to become a work model, which can continue on regular basis and inspire other museums to similar activity.
Our collaboration with the Museum started in 2016, when we conducted jointly a seminar for museum professionals from different cities and regions and for young artists. This work will progress in the current project. Through seminars and workshops professionals within the museum sector, professional and rising artists, interested in inclusive artistic methods, will be attracted. In small groups of 8-10 persons they will develop four mini-performances together with our artistic team. All the performances will be filmed and demonstrated to the audience.
A study visit to Sweden is another part of the project, aiming to introduce inclusive initiatives and projects of different cultural institutions and organisations to the professionals from the Museum.
The project started in spring 2017 and will continue until autumn 2018.
Project IncArtLab is granted funding by Swedish Institute within Creative Force Programme.
