The 'Inclusion through Art: Children's Rights Education Toolkit' is an innovative resource developed by the Centre for European Studies as part of the Performing Arts Exchange-2 project. The project was carried out in collaboration with ShareMusic & Performing Arts, Henrik Igityan National Centre for Aesthetics and Yerevan State University. Supported by the Swedish Institute through the Creative Force initiative, the project aims to create sustainable cross-sectoral collaborations and explore the role of the arts as a tool to promote human rights.
We at ShareMusic have helped to shape the educational content of the project. The concept of My Convention, developed by ShareMusic, has been one of the sources of inspiration for several of the activities in the toolkit. In addition, the Swedish pedagogue and artist Karin Styvers has played an important role by contributing methods that link children's rights with practical artistic expression.
The handbook contains concrete exercises and activities to help art teachers integrate children's rights into their lessons in an engaging way. It is aimed not only at primary school teachers but also at other professionals interested in the subject. The toolkit highlights the importance of giving children a voice through creative expression and strengthening their awareness of their rights.
Available in both English and Armenian, the toolkit serves as a practical resource for linking artistic expression with children's rights. We at ShareMusic contribute through our long-term commitment to using art as a platform for inclusion and human rights, which permeates the entire project.
