My Convention

My Convention is a performance by children, for children, about their convention. Together we plunge into the world of law in an experience where music interacts with movement and children's thoughts about the Convention. The performance is developed through workshops and interviews with children and young people in Sweden and Armenia. Almost wordless, with no other language than artistic expression, we explore children's rights on their own terms. The aim is to strengthen children's knowledge of their rights and give them a springboard to find out more so they can make their voices heard.

My Convention is a first step in a long-term multidisciplinary collaboration in arts and culture and political science between partners in Sweden and Armenia. The aim is to explore and create methods in artistic work as a tool to work with human rights. Swedish partners are we, ShareMusic & Performing Arts, Scenkonst Sörmland and Småland’s Music och Theatre, Armenian partners are Yerevan State University and Small Theatre of the National Centre of Aesthetics after Henrik lgityan. My Convention is implemented with support from the Swedish Institute, the Swedish Postcode Foundation and the Swedish Arts Council.
